ABOUT US
The Northern New Zealand Seabird Trust (NNZST) has been established as a Charitable Trust with two patrons and a Board of five to seven trustees. The trustees include some clever folks with business, legal and board experience and people who have specific interest and knowledge of seabird conservation.
The Trust is supported by an Advisory Group and work with Iwi/Tangata Whenua, NZ and local government agencies, institutions, NGOs and community groups as appropriate.
Our aim is to support seabird conservation and research projects from East Cape and the west coast of the Waikato north to Three Kings and the Kermadec Islands.
Specifically we:
(a) Promote the research and conservation of seabirds and the ecosystems they inhabit in Northern New Zealand
(b) Carry out and support seabird conservation, research and education projects
(c) Encourage, aid and assist restoration and seabird conservation
(d) Promote cultural and Maori values and kaitiakitanga.
